The moves nobody tells you about

Tips & tricks

Small moves that save you real time.

  1. Paste a chart instead of retyping it

    1. Copy a chart from Ultimate Guitar, Genius, or OnSong.
    2. In your library, press CtrlN for a new song.

Your copied chart lands as clean ChordPro, with no menu and no retyping.

  2. Let BandBinder find the music video

    1. Open the song and press E to edit.
    2. Press CtrlY to search YouTube for this song.
    3. Copy the link, then paste it in the YouTube box.

You find the right video fast, without leaving your song.

  3. Hover any button to learn its shortcut

    1. Point at any button, icon, or chip.
    2. Read the tooltip: it names the key to press.
    3. Press F1 for the full list on any screen.

You pick up the keyboard as you go, with no cheat sheet to hunt for.

  4. Change the key or add a capo

    1. In a chart, press Shift+ or Shift- to transpose.
    2. Press Ctrl+ or Ctrl- to move the capo.
    3. Press CtrlS to keep the new key and capo.

The chords move with you, and you can save the change for good.

  5. Let the chart scroll while you play

    1. In a chart, press A to start autoscroll.
    2. Press < or > to slow down or speed up.
    3. Press A again to pause.

Your hands stay on your instrument while the words keep coming.

  6. Tap the beat to set the tempo

    1. Open a chart and press T.
    2. Tap the button in time with the song.
    3. Press M to start the metronome with a count-in.

You set a real tempo by feel, then hear it counted back.

The songbook your band builds in rehearsal is the one you perform with.
